\n\tA STAR IS BORN: <\/strong>Chanel has named Bhavitha Mandava a house ambassador, cementing her meteoric rise as muse of creative director Matthieu Blazy.<\/p>\n

\n\tMandava made her debut on the Chanel runway for Blazy\u2019s debut collection last season, and went on to make history as the first Indian model to open a Chanel show, leading the M\u00e9tiers d\u2019Art collection in New York City in December.<\/p>\n

\n\tMandava was pursuing a master\u2019s degree in integrated design and media at\u00a0New York University\u2019s Tandon School of Engineering when she was spotted on the subway by a modeling scout. Within two weeks, Blazy \u2014 then creative director of Bottega Veneta \u2014 had cast her in a show. \u00a0<\/p>\n

In January, the 26-year-old model closed the Chanel haute couture show in a bridal look, and she has since appeared on the covers of British Vogue and i-D.<\/p>\n
