Instead, one person will be tapped to become the company\u2019s Chief Tasting Officer, with the responsibility of trying the brand’s signature burgers, nuggets, and Frostys for an annual salary of $100,000. <\/p>\n
The requirements of the job are simple: eating food from Wendy\u2019s and sharing review videos. The employee can also record their fun, creative and honest food reviews from the comfort of their own home. <\/p>\n

Candidates should have \u201ca human mouth, a pulse, opinions, creativity and taste,\u201d the ad continued.<\/p>\n
The listing also mentions some of the employee benefits, including getting \u201cpaid to eat because it’s not like your parents know what you do anyway\u201d and having a job that AI can\u2019t steal. <\/p>\n
Pete Suerken, the U.S. President of Wendy\u2019s, recently took the opportunity to do a taste test himself. In a video shared on the brand\u2019s LinkedIn, he documented how the Wendy\u2019s Baconator burger was made from scratch, before serving it to himself \u2014 alongside some fries and a Vanilla Frosty. <\/p>\n
He then sat down with his meal and took multiple bites of his burger, calling it \u201camazing\u201d and \u201cwonderful.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cThis is exactly the way a great hamburger should be,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
The Chief Tasting Officer job comes as Wendy\u2019s is embarking on a significant restructuring. Last month, the company revealed its plans to shutter between 5 percent and 6 percent of its U.S. restaurants \u2013 equating to 298 to 358 locations \u2013 in the first half of this year.<\/p>\n
The shift comes after global same-store sales, for locations open at least a year, plummeted by 10 percent in the October-December period, falling short of analysts\u2019 expectations of an 8.5 per cent drop. U.S. same-store sales experienced an even steeper decline.
