On Thursday, the grill manufacturer recalled six types of its grill brushes, stating that \u201csmall metal wire bristles can detach from the brushes and stick to the grill or food, posing an ingestion hazard or risk of serious internal injuries that could require surgery.\u201d<\/p>\n
The brushes recalled include the 19-inch grill brush (model no. 530-0024), grill cleaning brush with scraper (530-0024G), long handle grill brush (530-0034), grill brush and scraper (530-0039), grill brush with scrub pad (530-0041) and wood handle grill brush (530-0042). <\/p>\n
\u201cThe recalled grill brushes have a metal wire bristle brush attached to either a black plastic or a bamboo wood handle,\u201d Nexgrill\u2019s website states. \u201cIf the product does not have a Nexgrill logo on the plastic handle or stamped on the back of the bamboo handle, it is not a Nexgrill grill brush.\u201d<\/p>\n
All affected models were sold in Home Depot stores and online at the retailer\u2019s website from 2015 to 2026 for $5 to $15.<\/p>\n

Recalled products were sold at Home Depot from 2015 to 2026 (U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\nSo far, at least 68 cases of small wire bristles detaching from the grill brushes have been reported, including five in which consumers sought medical attention to remove bristles from their digestive tract or throat, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. <\/p>\n
\u201cConsumers should immediately stop using the recalled grill brushes and contact Nexgrill for a full refund to be issued as a gift card,\u201d the government website added. To register a recall, consumers will be provided with a registration code, where they will be directed to upload a picture of their grill brush with that code and their initials to the recall website. <\/p>\n
Once consumers receive a confirmation email that their registration has been successfully processed, they will receive instructions for disposing of the recalled grill brush. <\/p>\n
Consumers may receive a $5 to $15 gift card, depending on the model they purchased.<\/p>\n
Nexgrill urged consumers to dispose of the brushes even if they appear fine. <\/p>\n
