\u201cI want my child to be happy,\u201d she continued. \u201cThat\u2019s it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019ll be fine, \u2018cause now we\u2019re on top of it,\u201d Simpson\u2019s husband, Shane, said.<\/p>\n
Later in the episode, Simpson revealed that Luke might also have Autism spectrum disorder. <\/p>\n
Speaking to castmate Gina Kirschenheiter, she said Luke\u2019s therapist told her \u201cthe eating disorder is very common with Autism.\u201d Simpson said her son will be going to a specialist for \u201cintense testing\u201d to see \u201cwhere he lies.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThen I just felt like the worst mom because there\u2019s all these things, like sound bothers him, smells bother him, textures bother him, and it\u2019s like, did I just ignore them?\u201d Simpson wondered.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can\u2019t even explain to you how emotionally tapped out I am,\u201d she continued to Kirschenheiter, whose own daughter has sensory issues.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, another castmate, Tamra Judge, has opened up about the intense backlash she received after claiming she was on the Autism spectrum.<\/p>\n
Judge sparked controversy in October when she said on her podcast that she was \u201con the spectrum,\u201d referring to Autism spectrum disorder, after just one therapy session and no formal diagnosis. Her therapist told her at the time that many of the symptoms she was experiencing \u201cwere all signs of being on the spectrum.\u201d<\/p>\n
Speaking to her therapist on Thursday\u2019s premiere episode of the 19th season of the hit Bravo show, Judge said: \u201cI know when you mentioned that to me, I had gone home and went on my podcast, and I misspoke. I shouldn\u2019t have said anything.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI just got annihilated, you know, publicly annihilated,\u201d she continued. \u201cI had a really s****y last year. It was very hurtful. People think I don\u2019t have feelings, and it\u2019s not true. I\u2019m tired of being called a horrible human being because I\u2019m not.\u201d<\/p>\n
During the televised therapy session, Judge acknowledged to her therapist that she was having intrusive thoughts and sensory issues. Her therapist then explained how Judge\u2019s unprocessed trauma can mimic the symptoms of Autism spectrum disorder.<\/p>\n
