He listed their date of separation as July 4, the same day the two reportedly got into a heated argument. <\/p>\n<p>Richards, 54, has since made multiple claims about her ex, accusing him of physical and verbal abuse, before being granted a temporary restraining order against him. Phypers, 53, then made accusations about his ex-wife, claiming that she cheated on him and that he had proof of the alleged affair. He further alleged that she had a drug addiction and needed an \u201cintervention,\u201din a letter obtained Sunday by <em>Page Six<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p>However, Richards\u2019 divorce lawyer, Brett Berman, has denied Phypers\u2019 allegations and doubled down on claims that he harassed her. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn addition to the repeated abuse perpetrated by Mr. Phypers against Ms. Richards throughout the parties\u2019 marriage, Mr. Phypers has continued to harass Ms. Richards since being served with the Temporary Restraining Order by, among other things, disseminating private information from Ms. Richards\u2019 cell phone and laptop, which he stole,\u201d Berman said in a statement Monday to <em>People<\/em>. \u201cThese actions continue to disturb Ms. Richards\u2019 peace.\u201d <\/p>\n<div class=\"sc-awdjp1-2 cbpRGD sc-awdjp1-3 image align-center\">\n<figure class=\"sc-1cbdeug-0 cXcwgU\">\n<div class=\"sc-awdjp1-0 fCNguA\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.the-independent.com\/2025\/07\/17\/18\/08\/Aaron-Phypers-and-Denise-Richards.jpeg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.the-independent.com\/2025\/07\/17\/18\/08\/Aaron-Phypers-and-Denise-Richards.jpeg?quality=75&amp;width=320&amp;auto=webp 320w, https:\/\/static.the-independent.com\/2025\/07\/17\/18\/08\/Aaron-Phypers-and-Denise-Richards.jpeg?quality=75&amp;width=640&amp;auto=webp 640w\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Aaron Phypers filed to divorce Denise Richards earlier this month\" class=\"sc-1mc30lb-0 ggpMaE\"\/><\/div><figcaption class=\"sc-1cbdeug-1 sc-1cbdeug-3 bpFomM hgzWpY\">Aaron Phypers filed to divorce Denise Richards earlier this month<span class=\"sc-1cbdeug-7 CXMrn\"> <!-- -->(<!-- -->Getty<!-- -->)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>The statement continued: \u201cWe have warned Mr. Phypers in writing not to disseminate any information from Ms. Richards\u2019 stolen cell phone and laptop, but he continues to do so. Ms. Richards will not be responding to Mr. Phypers\u2019 false allegations in a public forum, and will be addressing Mr. Phypers\u2019 abuse in Court.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Phyper also shared a response, obtained by <em>People<\/em>, to deny the claims made by Richards\u2019 lawyer. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately, it seems Denise is experiencing another one of her now-infamous \u2018upside-down jacket\u2019 moments \u2014 and her well-paid handlers appear determined to spin it upright, no matter the cost or collateral damage,\u201d he said, referring to Richards&#8217;s appearance on season 13 of <em>The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills <\/em>where she wore a pink fluffy jacket incorrectly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe genuinely hope she receives the help and support she clearly needs. As Denise herself once famously slurred in a less-than-sober moment \u2014 words that now echo with irony \u2014 &#8216;Stop it. I know what you are doing,\u2019\u201d he added. \u201cNothing was stolen, and nothing is missing \u2014 except, perhaps, Ms. Richards\u2019 moral compass.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>The Independent<\/em> has contacted representatives for Richards and Phypers for comment. <\/p>\n<p>The comment from Richards&#8217; lawyer came after Phypers made claims about her alleged drug use, in the letter obtained by <em>Page Six<\/em>. He alleged that Richards had \u201can addiction to Vicodin\u201d for nearly a decade and that he\u2019s seen her \u201cpass out from substance.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The latest accusations from Phypers come days after he alleged Richards cheated on him. Phypers claimed to have found messages between Richards and another man on her laptop earlier this year. He told <em>TMZ<\/em> the messages between Richards and the other man contained selfies, as well as instances where she wished him \u201csweet dreams.\u201d Phypers also alleged that there were messages between the two planning a tryst at a hotel, where Richards was going to sneak her alleged lover into the room.<\/p>\n<p>Phypers claimed that when he found proof of the affair, it led to a fight with Richards on July 4 \u2014 and a subsequent divorce filing. <\/p>\n<p>Days earlier, Richards was granted a temporary restraining order against Phypers, after she alleged she was the victim of abuse. In court documents, obtained July 17 by <em>People<\/em>, she alleged that her ex would \u201cviolently\u201d choke her, squeeze her head with both of his hands, and slap her face and head. She also claimed he \u201cregularly threatened\u201d to break her jaw and cry and beg her to say, while \u201cpromising to get help,\u201d which he didn\u2019t do. <\/p>\n<p>Phypers has denied all accusations of abuse against him.<\/p>\n<p>The couple, who began dating in June 2017 and tied the knot during a September 2018 ceremony that was documented on the ninth season of <em>The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills<\/em>, share no children. However, Phypers listed Richards\u2019s youngest daughter, Eloise, 14, as his stepdaughter.<\/p>\n<p>Richards adopted Eloise immediately after her birth in May 2011.
