Zo\u00eb Lister, an actor who appeared in <\/em>Hollyoaks<\/em> between 2006 and 2010, provided the voiceover for the airline\u2019s tagline, \u201cNothing compares to a Jet2 holiday\u201d in a ubiquitous advert soundtracked by Jess Glynne\u2019s inescapable cheerful jingle \u201cHold My Hand\u201d.<\/p>\nThe advert has been turned into a TikTok trend that sees Jet2\u2019s audio added over the most chaotic summer holiday gone-wrong footage: plane fights, bad weather, drunken disasters and water sports accidents. <\/p>\n
In one TikTok video with more than \u00a31.7m likes, a woman almost drowns after coming out of a water slide in Tenerife and has to be saved by a lifeguard, as Lister\u2019s voice is heard saying: \u201cNothing compares to a Jet2holiday\u2026and right now, you can save \u00a350 per person, that\u2019s \u00a3200 for a family of four.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lister revealed in a new interview with The Sun<\/em> that she can\u2019t escape hearing her own voice blaring out of people\u2019s phones everywhere she goes \u2013 she was on the train last week when she heard the audio multiple times.<\/p>\nThe sound even interrupted an anniversary meal with her husband, who overheard people at another table quoting it.<\/p>\n
She explained: \u201cI was out for dinner with my husband because we were celebrating our 10-year anniversary.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were sat there and the next door table were doing their own video of Jet2holidays, doing all the voices. And my husband was like, \u2018Do you want to meet the woman that has the voice?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Lister said the trend was \u201ca bit silly\u201d, but she was loving how much people were enjoying themselves.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe’re all just really enjoying it because it’s just silly, it’s stupid joy, and that’s what we all need,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The actor added she never thought it would go viral, saying: \u201cIt’s annoying me probably the same as everybody else right now.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cMy friends and family are just sending me videos all the time, but everyone’s just along for the ride.\u201d<\/p>\n
The trend has gone even further with TikTok users recording themselves recreating the advert, singing both Glynne\u2019s lyrics and mimicking Lister\u2019s scripted words.<\/p>\n
Glynne cannot escape the trend, either. In a TikTok video with more than 300,000 views, Glynne is onstage performing \u201cHold My Hand\u201d when people in the crowd chant the advert\u2019s tagline. Glynne tells the audience: \u201cIf I see anyone doing that video\u2026.\u201d<\/p>\n
CapitalFM managed to unite Glynne and Lister for its breakfast show broadcast last week, which saw the pair perform together live after having never met before.<\/p>\n
Glynne said of the viral trend: \u201cIt\u2019s a massive surprise, but it\u2019s an amazing thing to see.\u201d<\/p>\n
