The pop superstar and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end announced their engagement Tuesday with a series of Instagram shots showing Kelce down on one knee under a rose-covered arch.<\/p>\n
\u201cYour English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,\u201d the joint post was captioned.<\/p>\n
Their engagement comes after months of viral moments that have made them pop culture\u2019s most-watched couple.<\/p>\n
Earlier this month, Swift made a surprise appearance on Kelce\u2019s New Heights <\/em>podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother, Jason.<\/p>\n\n

July 8, 2023: Kelce attends Swift\u2019s Eras Tour show in Kansas City, Missouri<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n It all began when Kelce admitted on New Heights <\/em>that he tried \u2014 and failed \u2014 to give Swift his number after attending one of her Eras Tour concerts.<\/p>\n\u201cI was disappointed that she doesn\u2019t talk before or after her shows, because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,\u201d he explained to his older brother, Jason Kelce, on their podcast. \u201cSo I was a little butthurt I didn\u2019t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you\u2019re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it,\u201d he explained. However, he wasn\u2019t able to meet Swift after the show, and he jokingly told listeners that he \u201ctook it personal.\u201d<\/p>\n
September 12, 2023: Rumours surface that Swift and Kelce are dating<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n While it seemed that Kelce had missed his opportunity to ask Swift out on a date, not all hope was lost. A source later claimed to The Messenger<\/em> that the pair hung out when she was in New York City. \u201cTaylor and Travis have been quietly hanging out,\u201d the source told the outlet on September 12. \u201cShe saw him when she was in NYC a few weeks ago.\u201d<\/p>\nFollowing the report, a source told Entertainment Tonight<\/em> that Swift and Kelce are not officially dating. \u201cTravis has been into Taylor for a while and definitely has a crush on her. He is a simple guy that is very funny, charismatic, chill, and loves playing football,\u201d they said.<\/p>\nAs speculation began to circulate about their relationship, Jason was asked about the rumors. Following the Eagles\u2019 win against the Minnesota Vikings on September 14, Prime\u2019s Thursday Night Football co-host Tony Gonzalez couldn\u2019t hold back when he asked Jason about their relationship status.<\/p>\n

September 19, 2023: Kelce opens up about finding love on Kristin Cavallari\u2019s podcast<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n As rumors surrounding Kelce\u2019s relationship with Swift continued to swirl, he opened up about finding love on Kristin Cavallari\u2019s Let\u2019s Be Honest <\/em>podcast on September 19. \u201cTo really dive into a relationship with somebody\u2026 It\u2019s going to take some time,\u201d the football player shared, adding that \u201cstuff he\u2019s been through in his past\u201d tends to make him hesitant to start a relationship.<\/p>\n\u201cYou\u2019ve really got to know somebody to take that step and really be committed and be in full throttle,\u201d Kelce continued. \u201cI can\u2019t just meet somebody and automatically think that forever is just a day away. It\u2019s too much. I\u2019m setting myself up for failure.\u201d<\/p>\n
September 20, 2023: Jason Kelce says dating rumours are \u2018100 percent true\u2019<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n While Jason was previously tight-lipped about his brother\u2019s love life, he seemed to change his tune when he claimed that rumors surrounding the Kansas City Chiefs star and the \u201cAnti-Hero\u201d singer were \u201c100 percent true.\u201d<\/p>\n
On September 20, the Philadelphia Eagles player was once again asked about his brother\u2019s relationship on DeCamara & Ritchie on Audacy\u2019s 94WIP Morning Show<\/em>. <\/em>\u201cIt\u2019s hard to answer because I don\u2019t really know a lot about Travis\u2019 love life,\u201d he replied. \u201cI try to keep his business kind of his business, stay out of that world. But having said that, I think he\u2019s doing great and I think it\u2019s all 100 percent true.\u201d<\/p>\n\u201cAnd I hope this thing goes a mile \u2014 no, I\u2019m joking, I don\u2019t know what\u2019s happening,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
September 21, 2023: Kelce addresses rumored romance with Swift for the first time<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n Kelce was forced to address his older brother\u2019s comments on an episode of The Pat McAfee Show<\/em>, which aired on September 21. Although he didn\u2019t specify whether he\u2019s single, he did express his amusement over the ongoing relationship rumors during the ESPN show.<\/p>\n\u201cIt\u2019s hilarious how much traction this has actually gotten. Right now, it\u2019s like a game of telephone,\u201d he said. \u201cWhere everybody\u2019s whispering in each other\u2019s ears and hearing random stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the NFL match-up, Swift was spotted sitting in a box next to Kelce\u2019s mother, Donna, where she appeared to yell \u201clet\u2019s f***ing go\u201d in response to Kelce\u2019s third-quarter touchdown reception. <\/p>\n
Later, Swift and Kelce were filmed leaving Arrowhead Stadium together \u2014 with Kelce wearing a 1989-inspired denim outfit. The two escaped the crowd in Kelce\u2019s convertible, according to photos and videos posted online, and he reportedly rented out a restaurant for a private, post-game dinner.<\/p>\n

October 1, 2023: Swift attends second Chiefs game with her celebrity friends <\/h2>\n<\/p>\n The \u201cShake It Off\u201d singer once again supported the Kansas City Chiefs tight end as he faced off against the New York Jets. Swift arrived at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey with a group of A-listers in tow, including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sabrina Carpenter, Sophie Turner, Hugh Jackman, and Queer Eye<\/em> star Antoni Porowski.<\/p>\nMuch like the week prior\u2019s game, the musician was seen cheering for Kelce from the box seats while sipping a red drink from a plastic cup. At one point, Swift was seen jokingly mocking the tight end\u2019s antics on the field as she pretended to punch the air. <\/p>\n
The singer was also seen hugging Kelce\u2019s mother, Donna Kelce, and posing for a selfie with Lively, Reynolds, and Jackman.<\/p>\n
October 14, 2023: Swift and Kelce make surprise cameos on \u2018Saturday Night Live\u2019<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n Both Kelce and Swift made joint surprise appearances during the season 49 premiere of SNL<\/em>. Later in the evening, they were pictured holding hands outside the SNL <\/em>after-party in New York City.<\/p>\nSpeaking to Entertainment Tonight<\/em>, one insider remarked: \u201cThey were holding hands throughout the night, whispering into each other\u2019s ear, and they even exchanged some kisses.\u201d<\/p>\nThe source also claimed they overheard the NFL player tell the \u201c22\u201d singer\u2019s bodyguard to step aside during their date night. \u201cAt one point, he actually told her security guard that he could step aside, like he\u2019d take it from here,\u201d they claimed.<\/p>\n
October 22, 2023: Swift attends fourth Kansas City Chiefs game, where she\u2019s pictured kissing Kelce on the cheek after win<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n The \u201cBad Blood\u201d singer watched as Kelce and his team defeated the Los Angeles Chargers on October 22. She was seen standing next to Brittany Mahomes during the game, where they showed off a secret handshake after the Chiefs scored a touchdown.<\/p>\n
