The Friends<\/em> star, who recently opened up about her 20-year struggle to have kids, said she had decided against adoption after trying IVF. Aniston, 56, added that she saw having her own child as \u201cthe only way\u201d for her, acknowledging that some people might consider that selfish.<\/p>\n\u201cThere\u2019s a point where it\u2019s, like, out of my control,\u201d she said on the Armchair Expert<\/em> podcast. \u201cThere\u2019s literally nothing I can do about it.<\/p>\n\u201cWhen people say, \u2018But you can adopt,\u2019 I don\u2019t want to adopt. I want my own DNA in a little person. That\u2019s the only way: selfish or not, whatever that is, I\u2019ve wanted it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Aniston, who has been married to Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux, said having children \u201cjust wasn\u2019t in the plan, whatever the plan was\u201d, and recalled the heartbreaking moment when doctors told her she had done all she could.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s very emotional, especially in the moment when they say, \u2018That\u2019s it,\u2019 because there is a weird moment when that happens.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey didn\u2019t know my story, or what I\u2019d been going through over the past 20 years to try to pursue a family, because I don\u2019t go out there and tell them my medical woes,\u201d Aniston told Harper\u2019s Bazaar UK<\/em>.<\/p>\nThe actor said her personal life is not anybody\u2019s business but \u201cthere comes a point when you can\u2019t not hear the narrative about how I won\u2019t have a baby, won\u2019t have a family\u201d.<\/p>\n
Aniston said that as she has gotten older, she cares less about correcting the falsehoods \u201cbecause it will happen eventually\u201d. \u201cThe news cycle is so fast, it just goes away,\u201d she continued \u2013 but admitted she had felt the speculation was unjust.<\/p>\n
\u201cOf course, there are times when I feel that sense of justice \u2013 when something has been said that isn\u2019t true, and I need to right the wrong. And then I think, do I really? My family knows my truth, my friends know my truth.\u201d<\/p>\n
