The Hungarian model, 32, who is married to former Disney star Dylan Sprouse, was preparing to walk in Wednesday\u2019s annual Victoria\u2019s Secret Fashion Show as she spoke to E! News<\/em> backstage about how she had been doing since undergoing surgery for endometriosis.<\/p>\n\u201cI had the surgery in June and it’s like day and night,\u201d she told the publication. \u201cThe difference is so crazy. Obviously, it’s something that’s still very under-researched.\u201d<\/p>\n
Endometriosis is a chronic condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside it, often on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, or pelvic lining. This misplaced tissue has no way to leave the body during menstruation, leading to inflammation, scarring, and sometimes infertility.<\/p>\n
Palvin explained that her surgery was \u201cnot a cure\u201d for endometriosis, but \u201chelped the symptoms\u201d associated with it through removing the lesions and scar tissue. <\/p>\n

Palvin first spoke about her experience with the condition in an Instagram post in August. <\/p>\n
\u201cHi guys, it\u2019s been a while,\u201d her post began, accompanied by photos of herself in her hospital bed with bandages on her stomach area post-surgery.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor some years now I\u2019ve been dealing with the difficulties that can come with my periods. Fatigue, severe pain, heavy and irregular flow, sleepless nights on the bathroom floor,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

But recently I\u2019ve been advised to seek out an endometriosis specialist to see whether my symptoms are caused by that. I\u2019ve been going to checkups to my gynecologist every year, I thought if I had endometriosis I would have known about it by now, but as it turns out, endometriosis can\u2019t be diagnosed with general examinations.\u201d<\/p>\n
She continued: \u201cSo I went, and 3 months later I got operated on. Since then I finally experienced a period that was easier, and now I know the difference. If you suspect that you could have endometriosis I encourage you to find it out. It helped me a lot, and I\u2019m grateful I did it.<\/p>\n
\u201cEarly diagnosis and treatment are very important to prevent long-term complications, and now I\u2019m more mindful about my body to act fast if needed. That\u2019s also why I took the past 3 months to rest and fully heal. I\u2019m excited about this new chapter of my life and now ready to get back to work.\u201d<\/p>\n
After first walking the runway for Victoria\u2019s Secret in 2012 and returning several times since, Palvin will again appear in the brand\u2019s iconic Fashion Show, taking place October 15 at 7 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n
The model will also be walking the runway with a broken foot, telling Us Weekly <\/em>how \u201cnervous\u201d she is to still be wearing heels. <\/p>\n\u201cVery stressful, but I got my wings, so if anything, I\u2019ll just fly away,\u201d she joked to the outlet, adding that while she will attempt to stop her face from expressing any signs of pain, \u201cI don\u2019t know if I can control the vein popping out of my forehead.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
