\n\tDOMINGO\u2019S DAY:<\/strong> The actor, playwright and director Colman Domingo will host the 2025 Fashion Awards, which take place at Royal Albert Hall on Dec. 1, for the first time, the British Fashion Council said on Sunday.<\/p>\n

\n\tA two-time BAFTA and Oscar nominee, Domingo is best known for his portrayal of civil rights leader Bayard Rustin in the movie \u201cRustin,\u201d and for the film \u201cSing Sing,\u201d which he executive produced. He won an Emmy for \u201cEuphoria\u201d and received another nomination for the film, \u201cThe Four Seasons.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tNext year, he is set to appear in \u201cMichael,\u201d the biographical musical drama\u00a0film about Michael Jackson, directed by Antoine Fuqua. He will also star in Steven Spielberg\u2019s currently untitled sci-fi film, which is rumored to be about UFOs.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn recent years, he\u2019s also become a fashion darling, wearing memorable looks at major events, including this year\u2019s\u00a0WWD Honors celebration and the Met Gala. Last month, he was named\u00a0Valentino\u00a0Beauty\u2019s new global brand ambassador for its fragrance lines.<\/p>\n

\n\tLaura Weir, chief executive officer at the BFC, said Domingo has had a standout year in film, television, and theater, while his red carpet style has set a fresh agenda for men\u2019s fashion.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAs host of the Fashion Awards 2025, he brings the presence, spark, and originality that make him such a compelling figure on and off screen,\u201d said Weir, who took up the CEO role earlier this year and is set to unveil her strategy for the BFC in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

\n\tThis year\u2019s fashion awards event, the primary fundraiser for the BFC Foundation, is Weir\u2019s first major project since becoming CEO.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe BFC has revealed the nominations\u00a0for British Womenswear Designer of the Year, British Menswear Designer of the Year, and Vanguard, a new category that blends the former New Establishment Womenswear and New Establishment Menswear awards.<\/p>\n

\n\tNominees for those awards include Sarah Burton, Simone Rocha, Erdem Moral\u0131o\u011flu, Craig Green, and Grace Wales Bonner, as well as Steve O Smith and Torish\u00e9ju Dumi, who took home the Karl Lagerfeld Special Jury Prize and the Savoir-Faire Prize, respectively, at the LVMH Prize for Young Designers awards ceremony on Wednesday in Paris.<\/p>\n
