Jolie showed her bare chest on the magazine\u2019s cover of its very first issue, revealing the mark from when she went under the knife in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI share these scars with many women I love,\u201d Jolie told the outlet in an interview published Monday. \u201cI\u2019m always moved when I see other women share theirs.\u201d She continued, \u201cI wanted to join them, knowing that<em>TIME France<\/em> would be sharing information about breast health, prevention and knowledge about breast cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Praise poured in online for the <em>Lara Croft: Tomb Raider <\/em>actor following the magazine cover reveal, with one fan writing on X: \u201cAngelina jolie is the perfect choice for a cover story, she embodies strength and compassion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another added, \u201cA fitting choice for a first cover, she\u2019s one of those rare figures whose influence goes well beyond film.\u201d A third chimed in: \u201cAngelina looks absolutely ethereal here. The mom-of-six<em> <\/em>explained she had initially been given an estimated 87 percent risk of breast cancer and 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy chances of developing breast cancer have dropped from 87 percent to under five percent. I can tell my children that they don\u2019t need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI went through what I imagine thousands of other women have felt.
