Key Fabrics and Innovations Unveiled
As the textile trade show season comes around again, textile producers are ready to display their spring 2027 collections, which will see ultralight, breathable fabrics that feature blends of linen and cotton, all presented in a bright and light color palette.
Here, a roundup of the key fabrics and trends.
Loro Piana’s Silkbreeze is a 99 percent silk and 1 percent bouclé yarn, slightly elasticized, with a bold structure that gives volume to garments. Thanks to the silk, it is characterized by a luminous natural sheen.

Reda’s Milleottocentosessantacinque is a fabric composed of merino wool and Roica stretch fiber, suitable for men’s tailored suits. It is characterized by its wrinkle-free properties, elasticity, comfort, and durability.

Botto Giuseppe’s fabrics alternate glossy and opaque effects are created through blends of silk and mohair. Textures are enriched with the lightweight stretch plain weave in cashmere, wool, and silk with a stone-washed effect, the semi-glossy wool and silk grisaille, and the plain weave wool, mohair, and silk featuring different dyeing and a chambray effect.

Monticolor’s Riccio is a 100 percent cotton yarn suitable for knitwear. Its bouclé texture adds volume without weighing down garments.

Servizi e seta’s Linsee is a fabric made of 70 percent linen and 30 percent mulberry silk. Suitable for knitwear, it is a wrinkle-free, rainproof, stretch, and light fabric, with the European flax certification for the linen fiber.

Vitale Barberis Canonico’s Cosmic fabrics are a blend of wool and silk, which enhance the light weight, crease resistance, and comfort thanks to the natural bi-stretch characteristic. They are suitable for summer clothing and are highly breathable. The fabrics are offered in a refined range of solid colors, dyed in-yarn.

Eurojersey’s Sensitive Fabrics are made of 75 percent polyamide and 25 percent elastane. Suitable for dresses, shirts, and outerwear, they are stretchy, breathable, quick-drying, and wrinkle-free. They are Made Green in Italy, PEF, and ISO 14001 certified.

Pin Up’s Lineapiù is a yarn made of 74 percent cotton, 15 percent metallized fiber, and 11 percent polyamide fiber. The spiral construction of these fibers allows for a garment that is fresh, lightweight, and comfortable.

Lanificio F.lli Cerruti’s fabric is wrinkle-free and made of 90 percent virgin wool and 10 percent silk or 100 percent virgin wool. It is available in different shades of blue for suits and in a pied-de-poule pattern for jackets.

Lanificio Fratelli Piacenza’s fabric is made of 60 percent cashmere, 32 percent silk and 8 percent linen or 100 percent RWS virgin wool. It’s ideal for suits.

Albini’s Cobalto is a fabric made of 63 percent cotton and 37 percent Lycra T400 Ecomade. It features lightweight versatility and elasticity thanks to the Lycra, making it suitable for jackets. The Lycra T400 Ecomade yarn is made of 50 percent recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and 18 percent plant-based material.

Filclass’ Gamer is a yarn made of 50 percent cotton and 50 percent polyester, GRS certified, constructed by intertwining three threads of cotton and polyester.

Carvico’s Portofino is a double-sided fabric with a fluid drape and shiny characteristics. It is ideal for beachwear and combines one black side with a bright, refined color on the other side.

Manteco’s Eclipso is a linen-viscose blend with elastane, suitable for tailoring and women’s and men’s outerwear. It is wrinkle-resistant, stretchy and soft. The linen is European Flax certified, and the viscose is Lenzing Ecovero certified.
