“God has answered prayer and I’m just so thankful” – Elizabeth & Pieter, our Christian Connection story

For Elizabeth, meeting Pieter was the response to twenty years of prayer and several years of resisting the idea of online dating. “It actually took me seven years to get to the point where I was actually ready to meet someone online,” Elizabeth remembers. “By that time, four very close friends had met their husbands through Christian Connection, and I knew lots of other people who had met and married on Christian Connection. I had run out of excuses as to why I didn’t want to do it.”

It seems the timing was perfect. “Pieter was the first person who waved at me. I read his profile. I was smiling by the end of it. I had no excuse not to wave back.”

“After our first date, I knew… I just sat on the tube going home, and I just thought, actually, Lord, you’ve ticked every box, you’ve answered what I want. And I actually had a little weep. I had been praying since I was 16 about getting married. I’d been praying for 20 years because I really wanted to get married and I really wanted to have some children. Once I met Pieter, I just had a very clear sense…”
