N. Hoolywood Teams With Baracuta to Rework a Jacket, Shirt

N. Hoolywood is putting a Japanese spin on some classic British outerwear.

The Tokyo-based brand founded by Daisuke Obana is teaming with Baracuta for the first time on an exclusive capsule called N. Hoolywood Compile that reimagines two of the British brand’s best-known silhouettes.

The designs were informed by Obana’s recent visit to the U.K., where he was exposed to classic British tailoring and vintage garments such as those created by Baracuta, which is credited with creating the original Harrington jacket.

For the Compile capsule, Obana created a reversible version of Baracuta’s G9 jacket, originally engineered for golfers and known for its windproof and waterproof qualities. The length has been shortened to create a boxy silhouette and the ribbing at the hem was adjusted for a stronger tension. The neckline was also made wider and the two-way front zipper features N. Hoolywood’s original leather pull tab engraved with a logo. The jacket, which is solid on one side and features Baracuta’s signature check on the other, will retail for 410 pounds.

The second piece is an original shirt design created from the Baracuta check with subtle details inspired by the G4 jacket. The collar is a British semi-wide style, there are side seam pockets and a back loop with a round-cut hem. The shirt will retail for 245 pounds.

The N. Hoolywood x Baracuta capsule collection will be available starting on Saturday on the Baracuta e-commerce site.
